Going to a gym to begin a fitness routine can be a daunting task. "What kind of workout should I do; what equipment will help me reach my goals; what preparations do I need to make before beginning?" The questions are endless and finding answers that are helpful and make sense are a struggle at best. At Fitness Together, the goal is to make you feel comfortable, knowledgeable, and secure in that you are getting the most out of your efforts to become healthy and maintain it over a lifetime. And you don't have to do it on your own!
Michelle Sobel, Trainer and Marketing Director for Fitness Together in Roswell, is excited about helping the average person get healthy and fit, and to do it in an environment of encouragement and support. Michelle started her own journey of fitness health after having her children and wanting to get back into shape. She was so amazed at the results that she decided to get certified as a personal trainer so that she could help other people, especially women, empowering them to get healthy. Michelle is certified with the American Council on Exercise as a personal fitness trainer.
So what makes Fitness Together different than the average gym? The first thing you will notice is the personal attention you will receive. Michelle says, "Because we have such a small client base, we really do take the time to find out what has inhibited each individual from succeeding in their weight loss goals and/or fitness program. And, to really help someone figure out how to make exercise and healthy nutrition work for them, within their current lifestyle, is of huge importance."
There are several aspects of training at Fitness Together that make it unique; one of the most impressive is the private training suites. "A lot of people that might feel a little nervous in a large, traditional gym setting, feel much more comfortable working out in the suites, and you don't have to worry about waiting for your equipment, " Michelle continues. "And, having an appointment with someone ready to work with you and develop a program very specific to your abilities, doesn't often happen at the larger gyms."
Fitness Together is part of a national chain of more than 300 studios across the nation. The Roswell studio, located in the Super Target Shopping Center on Woodstock Road, opened late in 2005 and takes personal training appointments Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. — 9 p.m. and Saturdays, 6 a.m. — 3 p.m.
What does it look like to become a member of Fitness Together? Michelle explains, "The first step is a fitness consultation to assess their previous exercise history, their wellness goals in relation to weight loss and fitness, and if they have any special concerns with their back or knees or any past surgery they have had that we need to be aware of when creating a program for them. Their personalized program will include aspects of cardiovascular, weight training, core strengthening and flexibility. And, all the trainers here at Fitness Together are experienced as trained to work with all fitness's types which makes it truly personalized."
Committed to the Roswell community, Fitness Together is in the early planning stages of a 5K run to benefit the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society. "We want to encourage people who have not participated in the race before to give it a try; to complete the race by running, doing a walk/run, or just walking. Our CEO, Cheryl Wolfinger, and a Roswell Personal Trainer, Eves Chery, are both Leukemia survivors so we have a personal interest in seeing this event be successful," said Michelle.
Fitness Together is passionate about helping others use physical fitness to enhance their life, and in many cases, help them feel better and do more than they could before. It is never too late to start an exercise program, and working with a professional trainer can make a huge difference in adhering to a program and seeing results. Give Fitness Together a call today and begin your own personal fitness journey — but don't do it alone — we're here to go the distance with you!
